The Otways and Coast Permaculture Group (OCPG) promotes the principles of permaculture in the Otway Ranges. The Otway Ranges are located in South West Victoria where steeply dissected hills covered in wet forest drop into the Southern Ocean. The area experiences high rainfall and possesses fertile soils. The few thousand people who make the Otways their permanent home are surrounded by the Great Otway National Park. Properties range from small town blocks to parcels that average 160 acres in size.
The OCPG promotes the principles of permaculture within the community: care for the Earth, care for people and distribution of surplus. We work to build a self-sufficient, skilled and resilient community. The OCPG meets on the second Friday of every month. We welcome visitors from other permaculture groups, new members and the generally curious.
